Insuralex Australia (Meridian Lawyers) is delighted to announce its expansion into The Australian Capital Territory, with the launch of a Canberra office and new professional legal team.

Meridian has recruited Principal Angel Li, Senior Associate Jesse Iliopoulos, and Associate Christine Neou, to deliver legal services to its ACT client base.

Angel Li heads up the new ACT team and brings to the firm more than 10 years’ insurance litigation experience, specialising in CTP, public liability, catastrophic injuries, workers’ compensation, medical negligence, and motor and recovery claims. She also advises on commercial matters, with a particular focus on immigration law.

Jesse Iliopoulos has worked on a number of significant cases in the ACT in recent years, and is recognised in the jurisdiction for regularly advocating for clients in contentious matters, and for his versatile approach to litigation.

Christine Neou’s diverse experience working with private and government clients across different lines of insurance, has resulted in a successful track record of commercially sound and timely resolutions for clients.

Meridian’s Managing Director, Paul Baker, commenting on the recent appointments says, ‘I am thrilled to welcome Angel, Jesse and Christine to Meridian. Paying close attention to requests from our clients, and as a direct result of our growth over the past six months, we are excited to have a local presence in Canberra. Angel and her team have a stellar reputation in the ACT market and bring skills that complement the expertise of our national insurance team as well as our commercial capabilities.’

Angel comments that her team is looking forward to joining Meridian. ‘We have long respected the deep insurance, allied health, and commercial expertise at Meridian, and look forward to being a part of the vibrant collaborative culture.’

Meridian’s Canberra office opening aligns with the firm’s strategic growth plans and broadens the national service offering to its clients.

Paul Baker comments that ‘news of the office opening and the addition of the new team members has been well received by clients.’

The team joins Meridian on 13 November 2023.

The ACT office is located at Level 2, 15 National Circuit, Barton ACT 2600.
