Rick Hammond, current member of Insuralex´s board of directors, Illinois Defense Counsel (IDC) past president and partner with HeplerBroom LLC, has been appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to the newly formed Task Force on Court Operations During COVID-19.
Rick will act as the voice for IDC and the defense bar on the task force. The task force was convened to recommend guidelines for the reopening of courts in Illinois, as well as look at issues such as remote hearings, virtual trials, and logistics in the courthouse related to masks, social distancing, and other preventative measures. The task force is comprised of judges, bar leaders, and court personnel from around the state.
Illinois Defense Counsel extends its thanks to Rick as he steps up, on behalf of IDC and the defense bar, to assist the Court in navigating the challenges presented during these pandemic times. The IDC was organized in 1964 and has nearly 700 members. The mission of the IDC is to ensure civil justice with integrity, civility and professional competence.
