I am very happy to confirm that we are well advanced with our plans for the London Mid Year meeting in November. We hope that we will have an excellent Seminar for the education of our friends and colleagues in the Market and we will also have some interesting meetings during your stay in the Market.
As always, there are some details that need to be finalised, but I would like to give you an overview of where we are at today’s date.
I am working on a hotel block booking and will respond separately with details as soon as I receive responses.
Meanwhile the draft programme of events runs as follows:
Monday – Wednesday 5-7th November 2012
There will be opportunities for Members to set up meetings with Underwriters, Brokers and other key people in the Lloyd’s and London Insurance Marketplace. Contact David to arrange a co-ordinated programme
Wednesday 7th November 2012
7.00pm – Dinner for Officers, Past Presidents and spouses at the Carlton Club, 69, St James’s Street, London SW1A 1PJ.
Thursday 8th November 2012
9.00 am – 1230 pm – Officer’s Meeting – Baltic Exchange, 38 Saint Mary Axe, London EC3A 8BH.
3.00 pm – Members gather at Baltic Exchange. Introduction of our invited guests and Speakers.
5.00 pm – Insuralex presentation and seminar – Christopher Henley, author of “The Law of Insurance Broking”, who is currently Head of SL Wordings and Business Development at Beazley Group, to talk on “The wording of Meaning and the meaning of Wordings”.
6.30 – 8.00 pm – Cocktail Reception – Baltic Exchange.
8.30 pm – late – Dinner at a London venue to be advised.
Friday 9th November 2012
9.30 am – 5.00 pm – Insuralex Mid Year Meeting – Baltic Exchange Board Room (Light lunch will be provided).
7.30 pm – late – Closing Dinner at the Carlton Club.
I hope that you approve of the above draft programme. There will, no doubt, be some changes, but we will keep you closely advised. In the meantime, please let me know any comments or suggestions that you may have. We want the London meeting to be a real success and to cement our relationship with each other and with friends in the London Market, as well as further afield!!
