Mazanec, Raskin & Ryder Expands into Lexington, Kentucky with Addition of Three Attorneys
(Cleveland, OH — Thursday, September 24, 2015) – Mazanec, Raskin & Ryder Co., L.P.A. (MRR) announced today that three Lexington, Kentucky attorneys have joined MRR as partners in a major expansion of the firm’s geographic footprint, by opening a new office in Kentucky. With offices in Cleveland and Columbus, MRR”s expansion into the Bluegrass State enhances its depth and breadth of legal services with the addition of Barry M. Miller, Casey C. Stansbury and Christina L. Vessels. In addition to a top-tier litigation practice focused on commercial law, governmental liability, first-party defense of insurers and bad faith, and employment law, the former Fowler Bell attorneys bring to MRR broad-based corporate, professional liability, product liability, cyber liability, and appellate practice services.

Barry M. Miller joins MRR as a partner who focuses his practice on insurance coverage opinions and litigation, including coverage issues related to municipal liability, bad faith and extra-contractual damages. He has considerable experience handling technology issues involving data breach defense and electronic discovery. Barry also provides instruction to a variety of groups including attorneys and business owners regarding preservation of digital evidence and insurance aspects of cyber liability. Barry is a Kentucky Super Lawyer (2013-2015) and is AV Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Casey C. Stansbury joins MRR as partner focusing his practice on civil rights and governmental liability issues, insurance coverage and bad faith, professional liability and licensing, product liability, construction and commercial litigation, including auto and commercial trucking. Casey is a frequent speaker, has received numerous awards, including the Defense Research Institute’s (DRI) 2014 Albert H. Parnell Outstanding Program Chair Award. He also serves as the DRI Government Liability Committee Vice-Chair as well as the Kentucky Defense Counsel President. Casey is a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC) and was named a Kentucky Super Lawyer in 2015, in addition to Rising Star honors in 2013 & 2014. He, too, is AV Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Christina L. Vessels joins MRR as a partner focusing her practice on insurance defense and coverage, professional liability defense, bad faith and extra-contractual litigation, governmental liability, employment matters, and appellate law. Christina represents a wide variety of clients including individuals, small businesses and national corporations. She served as Newsletter Chair for the DRI”s Government Liability Committee in 2014 and is an active member of the Fayette County Bar Association, participating in the Young Lawyers and Women Lawyers section committees. Christina is also AV Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been named a Kentucky Super Lawyer Rising Star since 2013.
